A global best-seller
The 1981 release of the Honda CR250R holds the claim to fame of being the first production motocrosser with a liquid-cooled engine. Not only that, it was lucky enough to inherit the majority of its design from the RC250M, which triumphed in the 1980 All Japan Motocross Championship. This design of course featured the 246cc liquid-cooled powerplant, plus Honda's Pro-Link progressive rear suspension system. The combination of power and smooth movement made it a satisfying ride for the numerous riders worldwide that plumped for the CR250R.
