[About the First Gulf War] In August 1990, Iraq invaded its neighbor Kuwait. In January of the following year, Coalition Forces led by the United States began a bombing campaign against Iraq, which led to a ground offensive. Iraqi military forces fled Kuwait in February and on March 3rd a cease fire was agreed which ended the conflict.
[About the Uniforms] In the early 1980s, the U.S. military was equipped with BDU camouflaged field uniforms. Among these was the DBDU (Desert Battle Dress Uniform) which featured a camouflage pattern of black and white flecks that was nicknamed "chocolate chip" due to it having a similar appearance to chocolate chip cookies.
