TRF Series No.270

TRF418 Chassis Kit

Item No: 42270

【 The Best Keeps Getting Better 】 This thoroughbred racing chassis is the successor to the World Champion TRF417 and features a host of newly-designed parts in a drive to add the 2014 IFMAR World Championship crown to TRF's impressive collection of titles. It features an alluring balance of flexibility and rigidity. A whole host of major parts have been redesigned, including carbon upper and lower decks, duralumin front/rear bulkheads and motor mount, suspension arms, uprights and more. With further enhancements such as adjustable stabilizers, large diameter damper springs, a lightweight front direct coupling and joint cups, the TRF418 takes full advantage of Tamiya's racing pedigree and data, and is ready to take on the world!

【 Striking a Sublime Balance 】 The TRF418 strikes a fine balance between flexibility and rigidity and achieves optimal roll characteristics. It does so by detaching the center bulkhead part from the upper-deck, allowing the chassis to fully take advantage of the characteristics of its carbon parts. To optimize performance in today's high-speed racing climate, duralumin A7075 alloy was employed for the front/rear bulkheads and motor mount, while the drivetrain is supported by highly rigid parts. Meanwhile, suspension arms, front/rear uprights and other parts ensure that weight transfer results in less tire wear.

1/35 U.S. M60A1 Medium Tank

Tuesday, 18 February 2014 21:10 Published in Tamiya

Limited Edition Scale Model

1/35 U.S. M60A1 Medium Tank

Item No:25166

【 Striking a Balance 】 The sublimely balanced M60A1 is a dominating presence in U.S. tank history. Its development was prompted by the U.S. realization that in the late 1950s, the top-line M48 was no match for its Russian T-54/55 counterparts. In an attempt to redress the balance, the M60 was developed using the M48 design as a building block and adding a 105mm gun. When even this failed to provide satisfactory results, focus turned to the creation of a new variant: the M60A1. Production of the tank started in 1962, and it possessed a redesigned turret with 254mm-thick front armor, plus a 105mm gun which was capable of piercing frontal armor on T-54/55s and T-10s from over 2 kilometers away. The M60A1 also gleaned an impressive 48km/h from its 750hp air cooled engine, and boasted a range of 500km. Excellent maneuverability was combined with enhanced night-time capability thanks to infra-red night vision scopes. It was just such an impressive array and balance of functionality that allowed the M60A1 to serve as a main U.S. armored weapon for in excess of 20 years.

【 About the Model 】 This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 273mm, Width: 104mm. ★The form of the tank including cast turret and boat-shaped lower hull underside is accurately recreated. ★Infra-red scope above the gun is recreated using separate parts. ★Features moving commander's cupola and 12.7mm machine guns. ★Crew hatches on the turret open and close. 1/20 McLaren MP4/6 Honda

Limited Edition Static Model

1/20 McLaren MP4/6 Honda

Item No:89721

【 The Class of 1991 】 The McLaren MP4/6 Honda made its bow in the opening race of the 1991 Formula One season in America. A design team headed by Neil Oatley and featuring the aerodynamics specialist Henri Duran eschewed the raised nose which was so popular at the time, instead giving the car a tapering front section and marrying it with high side pontoons and extended radiator air intakes. The front wing tips, meanwhile, were fitted with cylindrical vortex generators which had the effect of smoothing airflow around the form of the car, thereby improving its downforce. Front and rear pushrod-actuated suspension was fitted with Showa dampers that enabled ground clearance adjustments by altering the oil pressure, and were also fitted with built-in sensors; it is said that, like the engine, the performance of the dampers could be monitored using the telemetry they sent back to the pit. The Honda RA121E V12 engine was a 3.5-liter unit that could muster 780hp and was paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. They would power the MP4/6 to 4 consecutive victories in America, Brazil, San Marino and Monaco, and later in the season the legendary Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna took victory in Hungary, Belgium and Austria, his teammate Gerhard Berger taking home the spoils in Japan. When the dust settled on the season, Senna was Driver's Champion for the third time, and the McLaren team headed the Constructor's Championship for a fourth.

【 About the Model 】 This is a 1/12 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 369mm, Width: 178mm, Height: 83mm. ★Sturdy die cast front and rear suspension arms accurately recreate those seen on the actual car, and facilitate moving suspension. ★Features an accurate recreation of the V12 engine. ★Small screws are used throughout assembly to ensure a sturdy finish. Driver figure is also included. ★Body cowlings are accurately recreated, down to curved surfaces and panel divisions. ★Heat resistant sheets on the under panel and body cowling are recreated using aluminum stickers. ★Includes markings to recreate A. Senna and G. Berger cars. ★Realistic cockpit features details such as pedals, gear shift and instrumentation. Sponge shoulder pads for the seatbelt also come with the kit. ★Front wheels can be steered using the steering wheel.

Item No:21135

【 Japan's Maiden Victor 】 The 1965 Mexican Grand Prix was not just the last contest of the season, but also the last Formula One race using normally aspirated 1.5 liter displacement engines. It ended in a momentous win for Richie Ginther's Honda RA272, which in the process became the first Japanese car to lead home the field in a Formula One race. Perhaps the most striking component of the RA272 was a powerful, transversely mounted V-12 cylinder engine said to yield in excess of 230 horsepower.

Length: 194mm, Width: 83mm. ★The model faithfully recreates the No.11 car driven by Ginther. ★This realistic model captures the cigar-shaped form of the RA272 with accuracy. ★The 1.5-liter V12 engine is recreated faithfully, including details such as the 12 individual air funnels, intricate piping and engine-rear gearbox. ★Fuel lines are depicted using rubber tubing. ★Also includes a recreation of the plug cables stretching from the ignition coil to the engine, as well as the engine's breather pipe which sits under the roll bar. ★Realistic mirrored stickers are used to depict side mirrors. ★The 3-piece engine cowling can be removed just like that on the real car. ★Rubber tires feature detailed tread patterns and have logos printed on the sidewalls in white.。

Mitsubishi A6M3/3a Zero Fighter Model 22 (Zeke)

Item No:60785

【 Going the Distance 】 The A6M3/3a Zero fighter (Model 22) was designed to correct some of the shortcomings of its A6M3 (Model 32) predecessor, which included reduced flight range. This entailed the Model 22 being given standard-length 12m wings and receiving a larger fuel tank, measures which were largely successful. A version was also produced with longer machine gun barrels. The Model 22 was first assigned to flight groups from early 1943, and saw action in the hotly-contested Solomon Islands area.

【 About the Model 】 This is a 1/72 scale plastic assembly model kit. Length: 126mm, Width: 167mm. ★The more symmetrical form adopted by the Model 22 is realistically captured by the model. ★The model can be assembled with longer wing-mounted machine guns. ★The cockpit interior and landing gear bay are also accurately reproduced. ★Choose between open and closed canopy parts. ★2 marking options are included.

【 Get the Lo-Down on a Big Star 】 The Harley-Davidson brand of motorcycles is synonymous with cruising along the wide-open highways that criss-cross the United States. With over 100 years of experience, the company has manufactured a number of famous models, one of them being the FLSTFB Fat Boy Lo. Power is provided by one of Harley-Davidson's quintessential inventions, the V-Twin engine. The ever-popular retro look of the bike is underpinned by wide fenders, a headlight on a large nacelle and other accessories, while the low-down seat and black dish wheels complete the effect.
