CRC have released their 3.0 generation oval cars which are all new and do not use much of anything from the 2.0′s other than the front end. The biggest differences that make these cars superior to the old ones are the center pivot, rear pod, and even the chassis plate itself. The center pivot is now offset left on both cars to improve drive-off without jacking a bunch of wedge in the car. This allows the car to have a heavier left front tire which helps the car get into the corner and roll the center without being too free off the corner. The chassis’ have gone on an extreme diet. They have removed an incredible amount of right side weight and filled in all of the old NiMh cell slots to increase left side weight. Overall, the chassis are smaller and lighter, but have increased left side weight percentage.
Schumacher have released a complete gear diff for the Cat K1. The new diff provides lots of run time between maintenance rebuilds and with steel gears is super strong. Xray have released details on their 2013 spec RX8 1/8th scale on road chassis. The car features a number of major changes, as well as some refinements, including the all new fuel tank with interior baffles for stable engine performance. Other new parts, and something that seems to be on all the latest Xray cars, is the all new low profile shocks and related lower shock towers. The new LP shocks were developed to lower the CG of the car in order to improve stability. With the new LP shocks the RX8 stays flatter, making it easier to drive in chicanes and more resistant to traction roll, letting you carry more speed through high traction sweepers. The other major change is the all-new reverse clutch set whose design provides smoother and faster acceleration, while increasing the lifetime of the clutch shoe.
