ProTek RC has announced the pre-sale of its new Samurai RM.1 Maifield Edition 3-Port .21 Competition Nitro Engine.  Designed in collaboration with legendary professional RC racer Ryan Maifield, the new Samurai RM.1 enhances all the winning features found in the original Samurai RM engine and improves the power plant package even more through higher top end speed, increased fuel mileage, an improved and strengthened engine block, smooth yet powerful bottom end, and a slightly lower CG cooling head with new graphics.  “The ProTek RC Samurai RM.1 engine is smooth but powerful, gets awesome fuel mileage, and is easy to tune,” states Maifield.  “I’ve been running a pre-production RM.1 for a few months at a variety of events in different track conditions, and it has performed flawlessly everywhere I have been.”  Through extensive development and testing by Maifield and the ProTek RC R&D team, the new Samurai RM.1 increased fuel mileage by nearly 60 seconds while achieving higher top end speeds and maintaining a smooth bottom end.  It also features a steel backplate insert to reduce friction and wear while increasing RPMs and providing a stable idle.  A strengthened, black-coated crankcase is also included to maximise durability and reliability.  It also utilises a 3-port ABC piston and cylinder that are designed to offer more torque over the power range, while the blue anodised aluminium LCG cooling head with etched ProTek RC, Samurai, and RM logos on the top keep the weight as low as possible to achieve supreme stability and handling performance.

Following on from the release of its first hand modified racing engine that was specifically for 1:8 GT, Spower has added a second engine to the ‘Soul’ series with the popular B7TT .21 offroad engine undergoing the special treatment.  Based on long-stroke B7TT, the new B7HP piston/liner comes with hand modified conventional 3-ports type enabling more torque the power range.  The stronger DLC coating on new crankshaft has also hand modified with 2 tungsten counterweights contributing to consistent idling and quicker RPM response according to the throttle movements.  It also comes standard with Spower’s Boost rear cover plate which helps this high RPM engine work more stable from the top speeds to the lower range.  The new printing technology not only makes the cooling head colourful but also makes it blend in with your car.  The factory combo setup with Spower Japan 75mm Exhaust Manifold + EFRA 2089 pipe, B7HP will provide a lot of power  plus best fuel mileage for your offroad racing needs.

New from Blitz is the Pista-10 2 door GT body designed for all 1:10 190mm electric power touring cars.  With a super low stance, the high-performance aerodynamic body provides a stunning look and easy handling for all levels of driver.  The rear wing comes with 2 cut lines allowing driver choose a higher or lower wing, the higher wing gives more stability while the lower wing can give the car more steering.  The PISTA-10 comes in standard weight and or a 0.5mm lightweight version and is supplied with window mask and light decals.

Creation Model has released their new 1:10 Formula chassis,  the Infinity IF11-2.  The car latest IF11 has been reborn as a wide-tread and foam tire-compatible model.  The hybrid monocoque chassis which is the identity of the Japanese manufacturers competition Formula car, has been retained.  New features of the IF11-2 are the rear wing mount is integrated with the rear diffuser, reproduced for the first time ever in an Infinity kit using 3D printed nylon resin molded parts.  One of the symbolic parts of the IF11-2, it is based on the IF11’s concept of combining scale and performance at a high dimension.  Most of the carbon plate parts and the rear bulkhead have also been redesigned. Stable rear grip and traction.  The new design provides sufficient steering response and high cornering speeds.  The IF11-2 was developed with a focus on achieving a high dimensional balance of these elements.  The front wheel is suitable for large-diameter wheels with an inner diameter of 40 mm or larger.  Smaller diameter wheels (36mm inner diameter) can be accommodated with optional parts.

Having been given a first look at their first foray into the 1:10 2WD Buggy class at the IFMAR 1:10 Offroad World Championship in Arizona last September, Mugen Seiki has now officially released its MSB1 kit.  This is a hugely significant launch for the Japanese manufacturer who despite its small size is a major force in the 1:8 Buggy competition market.  A brand that punches well above its weight given the actually size of the company, the MSB1 has the potential to bring them a whole new customer base and as well as open up an all year round season due to the popularity of indoor 1:10 offroad racing.  Designed by Shin Adacahi, the MSB1 was conceived from years of testing and development.  It is designed to be used for multi-purpose purposes on dirt, carpet and astro road surfaces.  The slim aluminium chassis provide exceptional precision and stability when jumping and cornering with the kit including front and rear stabiliser, highly adjustable gear differential and 13mm shocks.  The design of the rear suspension is unique and adjustable than other vehicles in this class.  The height of the deferential is adjustable, giving you quick and easy access to the deferential.  MSB1 kit also includes cab forward body shell, front wing and rear wing.

New from reigning European 1:8 Buggy Champion engine brand Reds Racing is the 721 Superveloce Pro Gen4.  It comes with a redesigned cooling head which boasts the advantages of a lower centre of gravity for enhanced car handling, improved aerodynamics for reduced drag, and superior engine cooling. Furthermore, the new bicolor cooling head features a unique design. The new engine also comes with a new High protection Double seal front bearing for increased durability and idle stability.  Other main Features of the Superveloce engine is that it boasts an Extra Tuned Sleeve by Mario Rossi.  This special modification to the sleeve by Mario Rossi significantly increases engine power and ensures good fuel mileage simultaneously.  The 3-needle carburetor allows superior and easier tuning in all conditions, ensuring more linear power delivery and greater overall power.  All carburetors come with a special sealing ring to enhance sealing and tuning stability.  Fitted with REDS 9 balls rear ceramic bearing for increased durability and reliability, the engine comes in two distinct backplate versions: AirBoost or Rotary RTX.  Additionally, it is offered either as a standalone unit or as part of a combo package with the 2113 X-One pipe. ARC has released its latest 1:8 Onroad Nitro kit, the R8.4LCG.  Based on their R8.4 with low centre gravity chassis design, the front and rear upper arm base are all new parts, lower arms and steering block become hard composite parts to increase overall traction and corner speed.  The new LCG chassis R842026 becomes standard parts on the R8.4LCG, with the R822025 LCG engine mount the engine height becomes 2mm lower compared with R8.4, the LCG chassis not only lower engine mount but also increases flexibility in the rear end of the chassis, it helps to increase the steering of the car.  Also new in the kit are the front steering block and lower arms which are all produced in Hard compound.  As well as being harder the arms are also lighter than standard arms, and the harder arms give more ground traction and consistent handling in all conditions, The R8.4LCG corner speed is improved a lot with these hard compound suspension parts.  The front upper arm holder of R8.4LCG is 1.2mm higher compared with R8.4, it changes the roll centre in the front end and makes the car have quicker response handling and less exit steering, it can avoid over steering especially when applying throttle.  Finally, the rear upper arm plate also becomes a new one, the horizontal plate has 3 positions to adjust, more inside gives more rear traction and more stable handling, and more outside position will give a quicker response to follow the front end.

New from Italian engine manufacturer Nova Engines is the R9R Outlaw .24 Onroad engine which has been developed and released with purpose to give racers a powerful and easy to run Onroad engine.  As Andrea Rossi explains, which is a widely a common concern expressed by all the engine manufacturers and was a big discuss at the Wiorlds in Japan, today’s 1:8 category is suffering as costs, tuning problems and engines reliability make this category more and more difficult.  Nova Engines believe that using a different engine which provide better power, reliability and fuel mileage will allow club racers and hobby people to better enjoy their passion.  They are also want to put the attention of Federations on this option and open a discussion to implement the rules to better fit customers needs.
